A paperback wrap is the whole outside of your book on a single sheet: back cover, spine and front cover printed side by side, then folded around the pages. It is the one file a print-on-demand service asks you for.
It has to be right to the millimetre. The spine width comes from your page count and your paper, and the sheet is printed oversized so the trimming blade cuts through ink rather than white paper. Bookshift works all of that out from your book's own specification.

Your spine is your page count multiplied by the thickness of a single sheet of the paper you chose — which is why the same 300-page book needs a wider spine on cream than on white. Bookshift computes it from each printer's own published caliper the moment you enter a page count, so the fold lands exactly where the press expects it.

BoD and Tolino use different paper weights and offer different page sizes. Bookshift supports them too, so your spine and cover come out right whichever printer you pick.
Spine text is set to the width your book actually has. On very slim books, where printers ask for a blank spine, the editor handles that for you.

If you have your own ISBN and want the barcode in the file, enter it and Bookshift draws a proper EAN-13. Some partners — BoD among them — supply a barcode graphic for you to place yourself, so the reserve is kept clear at their published size.
